The Bellbird is a dapper well groomed gentleman with a beautiful voice. He is smaller than a blackbird and just a little smaller than a starling or thrush. He is a military man wearing a well ironed coat of army green that can shine in the sun. His outstanding feature however is his voice. His song is a long stream of bell like tones that any church would be happy to own.
The Bellbird is perhaps more common than the Tui but will be seen here less often as the resident Tui chases them away. In a rather human show of petulance the Bellbird will often take this out by trying to chase the smaller Waxeyes away.
