Waxeye

Picture of a Waxeye

The Waxeye is a small green bird with a distinctive ring of white around the eye. About the size of a small sparrow they do not stand out by themselves but in numbers they become fascinating as they dance around each other.

The little Waxeye is a delightful wee bird. Normally where there is one there are at least half a dozen. They swarm in to the feeder and never stay long. Nervous by nature they are always on the move flitting from branch to branch.
